Flashback.

So here’s the thing: I already have a blog.

It’s not about crafts or cookies or gardens or family life, but education. I’m a teacher and technology specialist by trade, and I started it in 2013 and I’ll be honest, I did really well with it for awhile. I gained a bit of a following on social media (namely Twitter) and got lots of consulting work because of what I shared and how I used the platform. But, like many personal interests in my life, my feeling of obligation toward the blog led to my abandonment of it. Since that space has been dormant on and off for so many years, it made me very reluctant to ever start a new blog with a different focus.

There’s a story behind why and how that attitude shifted in me - spoiler alert: it did, since you’re reading this now! - and maybe I’ll tell that story one day, but for now, it feels pretty surreal to be typing into a box knowing it is destined to live on the internet forever.

My intention for this blog is that it will be whatever I’m feeling, doing, creating, exploring, thinking in that moment of time. To be totally frank, I probably won’t post consistently, and I may even post quietly sometimes. I do not wish to feel the same obligatory pull to this space to deliver, but rather, I want it to reflect the authentic nature of who I am at my core. In terms of content, I do anticipate a mix of crochet shares, crafty DIYs, gardening woes, baking triumphs, with a smattering of family / life reflections thrown in, and I will be using the broader site to market and sell my crochet patterns as well as some other crochet-related things I’m currently exploring.

If you’re still reading and generally tolerating my promise for inconsistency after all that, then yay! Welcome to the party that is my brain 😏

Happy to have you along for the ride.
